Speculation : a single instance or process of consideration.
2. Atticus was expounding upon farm problems when Walter interrupted to ask if there was any molasses bearing the syrup pitcher.
Molasses :a thick syrup produced during the refining of sugar or from sorghum, varying from light to dark brown in color.
4. She was furious, and when she was furious, Calpurnia’s grammar became erratic.
Erratic : having no certain or definite course; wandering; not fixed
Sentence : Her decision is erractic, she can change her decision in the last mintute.

5. When in tranquillity, her grammar was as good as anybody’s in Maycomb.
Tranquillity : quality or state of being tranquil; calmness; peacefulness; quiet; serenity
6. Atticus said Calpurnia had more education than most coloured folks.
Coloured folks refered to the ‘Black’ people.
7. Jem and Walter returned to school ahead of me: staying behind to advise Atticus of Calpurnia’s iniquities was worth a solitary sprint past the Radley Place.
Iniquities: The quality of being very unfair or evil, or something that is very unfair.
8. I returned to school and hated Calpurnia steadily until a sudden shriek shattered my resentments.
Resentments: A feeling of anger because of something has happened that you think is unfair.

9. Little Chuck Little, whose patience with all living things was phenomenal, said, ‘Which way did he go, Miss Caroline? Tell us where he went quick! D.C -’..
Phenomenal : very unusual/weird
It is phenomental that he behave in such a manner and yet he get first in class.
10. Miss Caroline watched the process in horrid fascination.
Fascination : The state of being very interesthing by something or someone
I was fascinated by her beautiful voice.
Caroline always have a fasination for stories about solving mysteries.
11. He gave a short contemptuous snort.
contemptuous : Showing or expressing contempt or disdain; scornful.
He smile in a contemptuous way to the teacher.
12. Burris Ewell was flattered by the recital.
Recital : A performance of music or poetry, usually given by one performer.
13. The boy’s condescension flashed to anger.
Condescension : An act or instance of condescending.
14. He was among the most diminutive of men, but when Burris Ewell turned towards him, Little Chuck’s right hand went to his pocket.
Diminutive : a small thing or person
She is the most diminutive among her friend.

15. My replies were monosyllabic and he did not press me.
Monosyllabic: having a vocabulary composed primarily of monosyllables or short, simple words.
I detest answers whch are monosyllabic.
16. ..Besides, they’d put me in jail if I kept you at hoome – dose of magnesia for you tonight and school tomorrow.’
Magnesia : A white, tasteless substance, magnesium oxide, MgO, used in medicine as an antacid and laxative.

17. In certain circumstances the common folk judiciously allowed them certain privileges by the simple method of becoming blind to some of the Ewells’ activities.
Judiciously : using or showing judgment as to action or practical expediency; discreet, prudent, or politic
19. In Maycomb country, hunting out of season was a misdemeanour at law, a capital felony in the eyes of the populace.
Misdemeanour : Law. a criminal offense defined as less serious than a felony.
